Dr Doğuş Öksüz
Dr Doğuş Öksüz was a Research Fellow in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Birmingham and part of Postdoctoral Research Associates for Out Of Our Minds until October 2023.
He received his PhD from Lancaster University and worked as postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge.
He is interested in the cognitive basis of language learning and processing. He conducts experiments and corpus analyses to understand the basic computational machinery that the mind uses to learn and process languages. He is fascinated by the learning mechanisms underpinning language acquisition (e.g., error-driven learning, cross situational learning) and bilingual cognition (e.g. heritage language bilingualism and second language learning).
