Dr Laurence Romain
Dr Laurence Romain is Research Fellow at University of York and part of Affiliated Members for Out Of Our Minds
Dr Laurence Romain is a postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Modern Languages, University of Birmingham. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the Université de Lille and an MA in English Language and Linguistics from the Université de Toulouse Jean Jaures.
Her main research interests are in Construction Grammar with a particular interest in argument structure constructions and verbs themselves. She is interested in figuring out what kinds of linguistic chunks speakers learn and store at various levels of abstraction. To do so, she loves to look at corpus data.
Dr Romain is now a Bowland Research Fellow at the Department of Education in York.
